Jeddah, Saudi Arabia - King Abdulaziz University held an introductory session for the “Ibn Khaldun Fellowship 2026” program, organized by the Center for University Education Development, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Academy 32 at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST). The event took place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Center for University Education Development Auditorium.
The Ibn Khaldun Fellowship is a competitive research program hosted at MIT that aims to empower Saudi women holding doctoral degrees in STEM disciplines, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The fellowship provides participants with the opportunity to conduct advanced applied research at MIT for one to two years, while also offering exceptional professional and leadership development opportunities that enhance their contributions to global scientific advancement.
During the session, speakers shed light on key topics such as developing innovative talent, building the innovation ecosystem, experimentation, and impact creation. The event also included a detailed explanation of the application process for the Ibn Khaldun Fellowship (IBK) and provided guidance for prospective candidates.
This initiative forms part of a series of developmental and training programs supported by King Abdulaziz University to promote research excellence and academic advancement.
